Testing Center Policies

Acceptable Identification 

  • Current U.S. Driver's License with photo.
  • Current Federal, State, County, or Municipality issued ID with photo including Military ID.
  • Current Alien Registration Card (Green Card) with photo.
  • Current Passport with recent photo.
  • Current Palm Beach County dual enrolled and high school juniors testing under SB 1908 can use high school ID.
  • Current PBSC Student ID Card for students taking a placement test (PERT, ESL or TABE), an out-of-class test, or an online-distance learning test.
  • Photos of ID cards or virtual IDs are NOT PERMITTED at this time.

Test Fee & Time Waivers

  • Test fee waivers are provided for students who missed a test due to jury duty, military duty, death of an immediate family member, college-sponsored activity, or religious reasons. Documentation is required and must be presented at the Testing Center.
  • There are no fees for students taking Distance Learning Exams (unless the test is a make-up) and students are approved for accommodations.
  • Time waivers will not be granted within 30 minutes of closing. All students must turn in their exams 15 minutes before the Testing Center closes.

Cheating

  • Be advised that all testing rooms are monitored by a surveillance system.
  • Examples of cheating may include:
    • making an effort to remove test materials, notes, or scratch paper from the testing room
    • not following test procedures
    • failing to stop work when time is called
    • disturbing or attempting to get answers from another examinee
    • using unauthorized aids during testing
    • accessing unauthorized internet links
    • disregarding proctor instructions
  • An examinee found cheating may be referred for possible disciplinary action to the Dean of Student Services.
  • Cheating on a course exam will result in immediate notification to the professor for possible disciplinary action.

 

Guidelines for Remote Testing

Please review the following guidelines prior to scheduling an appointment for remote testing:

  • A valid physical photo ID must be shown before testing.  |  List of acceptable ID
  • You must test alone in a quiet room without disruptions.
  • You must agree to have your room scanned before testing begins. 
  • Food and drink are not allowed while testing.
  • Scratch paper is allowed along with a standard pen/pencil.
  • Breaks are not allowed.

Technology Requirements

  • Tests can only be administered on a desktop computer or laptop. 
  • The device must have a webcam and microphone (built-in or external). 
  • Connection to network with sufficient internet speed: at least 2 Mbps download speed and 2 Mbps upload. 
  • Operating systems: Windows 7 or newer, Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or newer. 
  • Browser with pop-up blocker disabled: Google Chrome v47 or later, Mozilla Firefox v41or later, Internet Explorer v10 or later, Microsoft Edge v12 or later, Apple Safari v6 or later.
