Types of Certificates
Post-Secondary Certificates
- College Credit Certificate (CCC): Gain marketable and technical skills. Earn college credits that can transfer to an Associate in Science degree program.
- Career Certificate Program (CCP): Prepare for high-skill, high-demand jobs. Earn clock hours and gain broad entry-level skills. Many of these certificates can be applied toward Associate in Science degrees.
- Applied Technology Diploma (ATD): Earn college credits and/or clock hours. These entry-level courses can be applied toward Associate in Science degrees.
Post-Associate Certificates
- Advanced Technical Certificate (ATC): Students who already earned associate degrees learn advanced skills in specific fields.
Post-Baccalaureate Certificates
- Certificate of Professional Preparation (CPP): Bachelor’s degree holders prepare for licensure, certification, credentialing, examinations or other demonstrations of competency necessary for entry into professional occupations.
- Educator Preparation Institute (EPI): Mid-career professionals and college graduates who were not education majors transition to teaching careers through this teacher certification program.
- Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE): The AICE is an internationally recognized diploma program administered by Cambridge Assessment International Education. It offers a broad curriculum with courses at two levels: Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced (A) level, preparing students for honors degree programs.
- Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC): The ECPC is a Florida Department of Education program that prepares students to work with children 3 to 5 years old in licensed child care facilities. It includes formal classroom instruction, work experience, and prepares students for the National CDA Credential.
- School Age Professional Certification (SAPC): The SAPC is a Department of Education program that prepares students to work with children 5 years and up in licensed afterschool programs. It includes formal instruction, work experience, and a professional resource file/portfolio.
