Types of PBSC Associate Degrees
Associate in Arts (A.A.)
The Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree is for students pursuing higher education in the arts, humanities, social sciences, general studies and some business and science disciplines. It is equivalent to the first two years of a traditional four-year bachelor’s degree program. Many students choose to earn an A.A. degree at PBSC and then transition to a PBSC bachelor’s program or transfer to another university to complete the final two years of their bachelor’s degree.

- 60 credit hours (typically completed in two years of full-time study)
- 36 hours of General Education courses
- Guaranteed admission to a Florida public university upon completion

Associate in Science (A.S.)
The Associate in Science (A.S.) degree is for students pursuing higher education in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and career technical education. It is comparable to the first two years of a traditional, four-year Bachelor of Science program. The A.S. is a career-oriented degree that prepares you for immediate entry into the workforce or for transfer to specific bachelor's degree programs.

- Combines technical skills and research-based classes with general education courses
