Title IX Compliance

Title IX is a federal law that protects people from sex-based discrimination in education programs and activities that receive federal funding. It states: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity.”

Palm Beach State College is committed to providing a safe, supportive and respectful learning and working environment for all students, faculty and staff. Sexual misconduct of any kind is not tolerated. This includes sexual violence, sexual harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and retaliation against someone for reporting concerns or participating in an investigation.

Sexual misconduct also includes situations where someone is unable to give consent due to age, the influence of drugs or alcohol, or a disability. All students are protected under Title IX, regardless of sex, sexual orientation or gender identity, including situations involving individuals of the same sex.

Notice of Nondiscrimination

Palm Beach State College, an equal access/equal opportunity institution, complies with all applicable federal and state laws regarding nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sex, sexual orientation, age, religion, marital status, veteran status, disability, genetic information, pregnancy status and any other factor protected under the law, state or federal, in employment, admissions or educational programs and activities.
