Program Overview
Palm Beach State College's Correctional Officer Cross-Over Training to Florida Law Enforcement Academy certificate offers a streamlined path for correctional officers ready to transition into law enforcement careers. This Career Certificate Program (CCP) builds on your existing experience while equipping you with basic law enforcement skills geared towards protecting our communities.
Through hands-on training and immersive exercises, you'll develop proficiency in patrol procedures, investigations, crisis response, vehicle operations and more. Realistic scenario-based exercises prepare you to confidently handle the challenges of the field.
Successful completion of this program qualifies you for the state exam for law enforcement officers. You can also pursue further education right here at Palm Beach State College.

- High school diploma or GED
- Pass the law enforcement version of the Basic Abilities Test (BAT)
- Must be a Florida-certified corrections officer
- Location: On-site at Lake Worth and Belle Glade campuses
- Clock hours: 518
