Talent Search (TS)

The TRIO Talent Search Program at Palm Beach State College is a free service for students in grades 6-12 who have the academic potential to complete middle and high school and are interested in pursuing higher education at a college, university or vocational school.

Eligibility Requirements for Talent Search

To qualify, students must be enrolled in grades 6-12 at one of the participating schools on the list below, and be: 

  1. a low-income student as defined by the U.S Department of Education
  2. a potential first-generation college student
  3. a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

To participate in the program, students must agree to the following commitments:

  1. Attend school regularly and maintain good behavior.
  2. Aim for high grades in all classes.
  3. Notify the TRIO Postsecondary Advisor if there are changes to their schedule, home address, or phone number or if their family plans to move.
  4. Seek support when facing academic or personal challenges.
  5. Participate in program activities such as college visits, financial aid workshops and events.
  6. Successfully advance to the next grade level each year.
  7. Apply for financial aid during their senior year of high school.
  8. Graduate from high school and enroll in post-secondary education.
