Student Support Services 

Student Support Services (SSS) is a TRIO program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Palm Beach State College offers the program on all five of its campuses to provide extensive academic and personal support services to 175 eligible students. The purpose is to increase the College's retention and graduation rates for students and to facilitate their successful transition from Associate to Bachelor's degree programs.

Our Services

Academic Advising

An advisor will help you to select courses and develop an academic plan to accomplish your degree goals. Your advisor will also help with career planning and offer guidance on study skills and time management.


Financial Aid Assistance

Our staff members are available to assist you with filling out financial aid forms. Visit the Office of Financial Aid for more information, including a list of scholarships.

Transfer Assistance 

An advisor can help you with the entire transfer process, from arranging a college tour of the 4-year institution you're interested in attending, to assisting in filling out the college's application and financial aid paperwork. 


Tutoring 

Individual tutoring is available free of charge. Regular tutoring appointments can be made for Student Support Services participants in any subject area.


Enrichment Activities

Our students are invited to participate in a variety of events and national academic competitions. One of our student teams won 1st place at the 2024 STEM Bridge Building National Competition.


Four Palm Beach State College TRIO Student Support Services students won first place at the STEM Bridge Building National Competition in Atlanta on Saturday, April 26.

 

Am I Eligible?

If you are a PBSC student and any of the statements below apply to you, then you may be eligible to participate in TRIO Student Support Services:

  • Neither of my parents have a four-year college degree from the United States.
  • I receive financial aid or I will apply for it.
  • I plan to earn my bachelor's degree at PBSC or transfer to another four-year school.
  • I will take remedial reading/writing and/or math courses.
  • I have a disability, and I have registered with PBSC's Center for Student Accessibility.
