TRIO at Palm Beach State College
Palm Beach State College offers a range of federal TRIO Programs across its campuses to support students. The federal TRIO programs are designed to assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students and individuals with disabilities with succeeding in their academic journeys from middle school through college.
Which program is the best fit for me?
Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC)
Our centers located throughout Palm Beach County help low-income adults ages 19 and older, who would be first-generation college students, to gain admission to college and find financial assistance for their educations.
Our services include assistance with completing college admission and financial aid applications, guidance on secondary school re-entry or entry into GED programs, academic advice and career counseling.
Student Support Services (SSS)
This program is located on all five of our PBSC campuses. We assist low-income students, first-generation college students and individuals with disabilities with graduating from college.
Our services include assistance with securing financial aid; personal, academic and career counseling; academic instruction; assistance with applying to bachelor's, graduate and professional degree programs; and activities designed for students with limited English proficiency.
Student Support Services Veterans (SSSV)
This program is located on all five of our PBSC campuses. We assist veterans who are also first-generation college students or individuals with disabilities with graduating from college.
Our services include assistance with securing financial aid; personal, academic and career counseling; academic instruction; assistance with applying to bachelor's, graduate and professional degree programs; and activities designed for students with limited English proficiency.
Talent Search (TS)
This program identifies, prepares and assists students attending participating middle and high schools in Palm Beach County with completing their high school diplomas and enrolling in postsecondary education programs.
Our services include tutoring and mentoring; personal, career and academic counseling; exposure to college campuses; college entrance exam preparation and assistance with financial aid and college admissions applications.
Upward Bound (UB)
This year-round program identifies, prepares and assists students attending participating high schools in Palm Beach County with completing their high school education and enrolling in postsecondary education programs.
Our services include summer sessions, tutoring and mentoring; personal, career and academic counseling; exposure to college campuses; college entrance exam preparation and assistance with financial aid and college admissions applications.
