PBSC secures $2 million in federal funding to advance quantum education.

Palm Beach State College’s Quantum Innovation Center is leading the creation of a quantum business incubator in the heart of West Palm Beach and the development of Florida’s first structured, public-access Quantum Systems Certification Program. In 2026, the College was awarded nearly $7 million in federal and state funding to support its innovative center. 

The College's century-old historic building on Fern Street in West Palm Beach, where Palm Beach State College first opened its doors in 1933 as Florida's first public community college, is now being transformed into the future home of the Quantum Innovation Center. The center is being developed in partnership with the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County and Quantum Coast Capital.

Programs

Coming Soon: Quantum Systems Certification Program

In Spring 2027, Palm Beach State College will launch its Quantum Systems Certification training program to accelerate Florida’s workforce readiness in advanced computing, cloud technologies and emerging quantum technologies.

Students will learn in a collaborative learning environment in PBSC’s quantum simulation labs and quantum cloud-processing classrooms. Students will receive direct access to cutting-edge workforce training aligned with fast-growing, high-wage industries, including information technology, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

 

Available Now: Free Quantum Business Course

PBSC offers a free online course for business leaders eager to learn more about workforce impact, quantum computing applications and trends. The Introduction to Quantum Computing: Understanding Quantum Technologies and Future Career Pathways course is a self-paced set of modules that can be completed when it’s most convenient for participants.
