Palm Beach State College's Residential Electrician Career Certificate Program (CCP) offers a career-focused path into one of today's most essential skilled trades. With a focus on broad, transferable skills, this program prepares students for immediate entry into the workforce or advanced training in the residential electricity industry.

Students gain real-world practice in residential wiring and electricity systems, modern home technologies, troubleshooting and production skills. Instruction also emphasizes planning, technology principles, safety procedures and environmental issues.

  • Admission requirements: None. To receive financial aid, a high school diploma or GED may be required.
  • Location: On-site at Lake Worth campus
  • Clock hours: 750
  • Program Length: 25-week daytime program or 38-week evening program
  • Start Terms: Fall, Spring and Summer

How to Apply

  • Step 1: Attend a mandatory program information session.
  • Step 2: After you attend an information session, you may apply to the program by selecting Program Code 5631 for the Residential Electrician CCP when you fill out PBSC's application on the Admissions webpage.
  • Step 3: Meet with a Trade and Industry advisor.
  • Step 4: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam if not exempt from TABE testing.
