As a skilled heating and cooling technician, you'll provide year-round comfort and reliable service to clients in your community. Palm Beach State College's Residential Heating and Air Conditioning Specialist Career Certificate Program (CCP) gives you the hands-on training and technical foundation to maintain modern HVAC systems.
Through a blend of theory, practical labs and assessments, you'll master core concepts of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. You'll explore various aspects of the trade, such as basic operations, safety, installation and troubleshooting. This career-driven program prepares you for entry-level employment, where your skills serve homes in need and maximize everyday comfort.

- Admission requirements: None. To receive financial aid, a high school diploma or GED may be required.
- Location: On-site at Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens campuses
- Clock hours: 750
- Program Length: 27-week daytime program or 42-week evening program
- Start Terms: Fall, Spring and Summer

- Step 2: After you attend an information session, you may apply to the program by selecting Program Code 5250 for the Residential Heating and Air Conditioning Specialist CCP when you fill out PBSC's application on the Admissions webpage.

- Step 4: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam if not exempt from TABE testing.
