Program Overview

Palm Beach State College's Marine Service Technology Career Certificate Program (CCP) prepares students for exciting careers in the fast-growing marine industry. Florida has the largest marine industry in the U.S., and Palm Beach County is a major hub, creating strong demand for skilled marine service technicians.

Students gain hands-on experience by training in PBSC’s labs and working directly on boats. Utilizing the American Boat and Yacht Council entry-level standards and tests, the program prepares students to achieve ABYC student certification before graduation and then quickly enter the workforce.

  • Admission requirements: None. To receive financial aid, a high school diploma or GED may be required.

  • Program Length: 45-week daytime program or 70-week evening program

  • Step 1: Attend a mandatory program information session. Register here.
  • Step 2: After you attend an information session, you may apply to the program by selecting Program Code 5453 for the Marine Service Technology CCP when you fill out PBSC's application on the Admissions webpage.
  • Step 3: Meet with a Trade and Industry advisor online or in person.
  • Step 4: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam if not exempt from TABE testing.
  • Step 5: Make an appointment with the Program Director as the final step.
