Program Overview
Palm Beach State College's Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) Career Certificate Program (CCP) prepares students for in-demand careers in the vital industry. Through hands-on lab training and practical classroom instruction, you'll develop skills needed to install, maintain and troubleshoot HVAC/R systems.
Designed with career readiness at the forefront, students engage in real-world projects covering system operation, safety, air quality, repairing and more. This specialized program helps students build the technical knowledge employers are looking for. You'll be well-equipped for opportunities in the skilled trade, making an impact in homes and commercial buildings alike.
This program is supported by the PBSC4C Grant Program from the U.S. Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges (SCC) Round 4 grant services, enhancing academic and professional success through skills training, industry partnerships and career success coaches.

- Admission requirements: None. To receive financial aid, a high school diploma or GED may be required.
- Location: On-site at Lake Worth campus

- Program Length: 45-week daytime program

How to Apply
- Step 1: Attend a mandatory program information session.
- Step 2: After you attend an information session, you may apply to the program by selecting Program Code 5267 for the HVAC/R CCP when you fill out PBSC's application on the Admissions webpage.
- Step 3: Meet with a Trade and Industry advisor.
- Step 4: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam if not exempt from TABE testing.
