Program Overview
Palm Beach State College’s Associate in Science degree in Engineering Technology prepares students for well-paid careers in industries such as manufacturing, aerospace, energy, construction, robotics and mechatronics. Taught by industry-experienced professors, students gain current knowledge and hands-on skills through campus labs and valuable internships.
Four concentration areas allow students to focus on specific career paths aligned with their interests:
- Advanced Manufacturing (Program code AS 2550D): This concentration prepares students for manufacturing careers by building knowledge
and skills in mechanical and electrical systems, mechatronics and robotics.
- Advanced Technology (Program code AS 2550C): This concentration equips students for careers in product development and fabrication.
Students learn critical skills in mechanical and electrical modeling and design manufacturing
processes, quality assurance, AutoCAD, 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
- Alternative Energy Systems (Program code AS 2550A): This concentration combines courses in alternative energy, environmental science
and geographic information systems (GIS) to prepare students to play a role in a sustainable
energy future.
- Electronics (Program code AS 2550B): This concentration prepares students for specialized roles focusing on electronics and circuitry, design and functionality of computer hardware, electronic telecommunication systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC), microprocessors and other electronic equipment.
