Program Overview
Carpenters transform a construction zone into displays of craftsmanship. In Palm Beach State College's Carpentry Career Certificate Program (CCP), you'll learn to frame, finish and bring buildings to life through hands-on training.
Applied coursework helps you master the tools of the trade, such as framing walls and stairs, installing drywall, crafting indoor and outdoor furniture and installing flooring. Graduates are equipped to contribute to residential and commercial projects alike, from new homes to complexes.
This program is supported by the PBSC4C Grant Program from the U.S. Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges (SCC) Round 4 grant services, enhancing academic and professional success through skills training, industry partnerships and career success coaches. You'll develop rough and finish carpentry skills, preparing you to become a contractor in the in-demand industry.

- Admission requirements: None. To receive financial aid, a high school diploma or GED may be required.
- Location: On-site at Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens campuses
- Clock hours: 1,200
- Program Length: 44-week daytime program or 60-week evening program
- Start Terms: Fall, Spring and Summer

How to Apply
- Step 1: Attend a mandatory program information session. Email the program contact below for information about upcoming sessions.
- Step 2: After attending an information session, select Program Code 5627 for the Carpentry CCP when you fill out PBSC's application on the Admissions webpage.
- Step 3: Meet with a Trade and Industry advisor.
- Step 4: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam if not exempt from TABE testing.
