Program Overview
From constructing buildings to updating infrastructure, skilled trade workers keep our communities alive. Palm Beach State College's Building Trades and Construction Design Career Certificate Program (CCP) is a robust program where students explore trades and hone the technical skills to excel in the construction industry.
Through hands-on training, students delve into core disciplines of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and more. You'll take part in practical applications, such as carpentry techniques like framing and cabinetry installation. You'll also learn how to operate hand and power tools, making you career-ready for a variety of construction projects.
This program is supported by the PBSC4C Grant Program from the U.S. Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges (SCC) Round 4 grant services, enhancing academic and professional success through skills training, industry partnerships and career success coaches. You'll be prepared to apply these technical skills in a wide range of maintenance and repair trade roles.

- Admission requirements: None. To receive financial aid, a high school diploma or GED may be required.
- Location: On-site at Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens campuses
- Clock hours: 900
- Program Length: Daytime program 30 weeks/ Evening program 45 weeks
- Start Terms: Fall and Spring

- Step 2: After you attend an information session, you may apply to the program by selecting Program Code 5626 for the Building Trades and Construction Design CCP when you fill out PBSC's application on the Admissions webpage.
- Step 3: Meet with a Trade and Industry advisor.
- Step 4: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam if not exempt from TABE testing.
