Program Overview

The Automotive Repair Technician Career Certificate Program (CCP) at Palm Beach State College prepares students for entry-level employment in the automotive service industry through a blend of hands-on lab training and classroom instruction. Students gain a strong understanding of workplace practices, safety standards and shop organization while building practical, job-ready skills in Palm Beach State College's large, professionally equipped auto repair shop with vehicle lifts and cars of various makes and models.

This program covers all basic aspects of the eight Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) areas, giving students the opportunity to gain knowledge for any entry-level position. The ASE Education Foundation Entry-Level curriculum prepares students to sit for eight entry-level ASE certification exams — all included in the program, enabling students to graduate with earned certifications.

  • Program Length: 22-week daytime program or 32-week evening program

  • Step 2: After you attend an information session, you may apply to the program by selecting Program Code 5451 for the Automotive Repair Technician CCP when you fill out PBSC's application on the Admissions webpage.
  • Step 3: Meet with a Trade and Industry advisor online or in person.
  • Step 4: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam if not exempt from TABE testing.
  • Step 5: Make an appointment with the Program Director as the final step.
