Microcredentialing
The IEECE’s digital badging system visually shows identified education pathways that move students forward to achieving proficiency in employability skills necessary for all teaching professionals in the field.
The pathways consist of trainings and noncredit college courses designed to strengthen classroom teachers’ employability skills. These skills are highly valued by employers for fostering quality learning environments, appreciated by parents for promoting positive teacher-child interactions and embraced by teachers who can carry their professional growth wherever their careers lead.
In recognition of successful learning, there is financial recognition awarded for each badge on a pathway and again when the pathway is completed and the microcredential is achieved.
How Microcredentialing Works
Students earn a badge by completing a series of grouped noncredit trainings within a specific pathway. After earning all required badges and completing a related portfolio, they receive a microcredential. Eligible early childhood professionals—working at least 20 hours per week in a publicly funded or subsidized program in Palm Beach County—may also receive financial recognition upon completion of each badge and microcredential. This recognition is awarded three times per year, at the end of each semester.
