Center Leadership Training

Our leadership training is designed for child care directors, assistant directors, curriculum specialists, family child care providers and after-school program directors.

The leadership track focuses on building essential skills in both leadership and program management, including personal and professional growth, effective communication, performance management, presentation skills, facilitative leadership and program evaluation.

Each course is part of a series with required assignments that connect theory to real-world application in the workplace. To successfully complete a series, participants must fulfill all course requirements.

  • HEO0202: Foundations of Outcomes Driven Training - This course prepares trainers to deliver early childhood trainings using Center Trainer Modules. It covers adult learning principles, diverse learning styles and strategies for creating engaging, well-managed learning environments.
  • HEO0233: Growing Your Staff While Growing Yourself - This course helps early childhood center managers reflect on their strengths and growth areas using the Florida Core Competencies, while also guiding staff in creating individualized career plans for professional development.
  • HEO0236: Introduction to Community of Practice (COP) for Center Leaders - This course introduces child care center directors, assistant directors and curriculum specialists to communities of practice and critical friends groups, highlighting their benefits and processes for fostering reflection, collaboration and improved outcomes for children.
  • HEO0247: Observation and Feedback - This course provides early childhood center leaders with knowledge and skills to implement routine staff observation and feedback to improve classroom practices and interactions.
