Study Abroad in Costa Rica

Palm Beach State College's 2026 Costa Rica program offers students a rich, immersive study abroad experience. It blends cultural exploration, academic learning, environmental education, and fostering global awareness and personal growth in a vibrant Central American setting. Students will engage directly with local communities, wildlife and ecosystems for hands-on learning.

Focus:  Environment & Culture
Travel Dates: March 7-14, 2026 (8 days)

Cost:
$3,140-$4,120 per student (10-25+ students). There is an optional single room upgrade. Cost varies. Students who register by November 5, 2025, will receive a $95 discount. (Total cost and upgrade price subject to change.)

Associated Courses: Students must enroll in the required 1-credit course, GEA 2952: Globalization – Study Abroad Experience, to participate in the study abroad program. In addition, students may choose to enroll in one of the associated course(s) taught by a Program Contact listed above to earn additional credit:

San Jose

  • Walking tour of San Jose and the Capital
  • Visit Arenal Volcano and La Fortuna Waterfall

Los Chiles

  • Boat tour of Caño Negro Wildlife
  • Visit Arena Hot Springs natural heated pools

Monteverde

  • Visit Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve
  • Zipline adventure and River tour of crocodiles

Central Pacific Coast

  • Visit Manuel Antonia National Park
  • Visit Sarchi and a coffee plantation
