Study Abroad in Belize

Palm Beach State College's 2026 Belize program offers students a rich, immersive study abroad experience. It blends cultural exploration, academic learning, environmental education and service projects, fostering global awareness and personal growth in a vibrant Central American setting. Students will engage directly with local communities, wildlife and ecosystems for hands-on learning.

Cost:
$3,890 (15-24 students). There is an optional single room upgrade. Cost varies.

All students can earn 1 college credit (GEA 2952: Globalization – Study Abroad Experience) recorded on their transcript. More courses will be added soon.

Itinerary

  • History and culture presentation
  • Conservation and biodiversity lecture, guided trail hike in Belmopan region and canoeing on the Sibun river
  • Bird watching
  • Belizean Ranger for a day experience
  • Garifuna drumming lessons
  • Beaches and mangrove fields of Placencia
  • Nim Li Punit archaeological site
  • Introduction to the Reef ecosystem and snorkeling in the Cayes
  • Maya village visit
  • Self-guided cave exploration and St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park
