Title: Procedure for Payout of Vacation and Sick Time

All payouts will be made in accordance with the Florida Retirement System, the College’s Special Pay Plan, the Internal Revenue Code, and District board of Trustees Policy 6Hx-18-5.03.

Separation

Payouts at separation will automatically be initiated and completed by payroll.  Payouts will occur after the last paycheck for worked time.

  • An employee that would like to waive the payout process at separation in order to transfer sick and/or vacation time to another accepting institution must complete a request in the online system a minimum of two workweeks prior to separation.


DROP Entry

If an employee desires to have their vacation time considered by the Florida Retirement System when entering DROP, the employee shall request the time to be paid out in the online system a minimum of two workweeks weeks prior to their DROP entry date.


Change to a Non-Exempt Position

An employee may request up to forty hours of vacation time to be paid out. The request shall be completed a minimum of one workweek prior to the transfer date in the online system.


Change to a Non-Accruing Position

If an employee desires to have their time paid out when moving to a non-accruing position, the request shall be completed a minimum of two workweeks prior to the change in status in the online system.
