Start Your Free Workforce Program
Start a workforce program this summer at Palm Beach State College and you'll be eligible to apply for an Open Door Grant. It will pay for the entire length of your program, until you earn your degree or certificate!
The grant is available for students who enroll in eligible programs. It covers tuition balances, exam fees, books, uniforms and other educational costs. Complete your program for free at Palm Beach State College and open doors to your new career! Apply by June 30, 2025.

Am I eligible to apply?
Applicants must:
- Start summer 2025 classes in an eligible program from the list below.
- Be a new PBSC student or current student.
- Be a Florida resident who has resided in Florida for at least one year.
Applicants are encouraged to:
- Complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA. Go to the Office of Financial Aid.
- Be aware that Open Door funds are granted after other financial aid is applied and will cover up to 100% of tuition and other educational costs, depending on available funding.
Steps to Apply
1. Choose your free program from the list below!
2. If you're not already a PBSC student, you must complete the PBSC admissions application first. When you receive your student ID, you can then apply for the grant.
3. Complete the Open Door Grant application. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2025.
4. Monitor your email inbox for notifications about the status of your application.

Funding for the Open Door Grant program is administered by the Office of Student Financial
Assistance within the Florida Department of Education. Open Door Grant funding is
limited and based on fund availability. All applications are reviewed in date order.
Open Door Grant funds for awarded students will be applied to each student's account
once their application has been approved, their program/course registration has been
verified and any other financial aid has been applied.
